Rice Lake Speedway Announces Purse Increase for 2026

Building on their success from their first two years of owning and operating the Rice Lake Speedway, Rice Lake Speedway LLC has announced a purse increase for the racers for the 2026 racing season.

Track owners Kolby and Dean Kiehl, along with Dick Kalow, are happy to announce that they have been able to increase the purse for the Saturday night racers at the speedway.

According to track spokesman Kolby Kiehl, “after two years of running the track, we feel that we have a good handle on just what our expenses are and where our sources of revenue are and at this point, we want to reward those racers that have been loyal to us on Saturday nights.”

“As a racer myself, I know that racing is becoming increasingly expensive and we as a track want to make the sport as manageable as possible for those racers who run our track on Saturday nights.”

All five classes that race at the speedway will see a purse increase and virtually every finishing position has been adjusted in the purse payoff.

The total purse increase is twelve per cent over the 2025 racing season. The individual classes will broken down this way. The Modified feature will be six hundred dollars to win and eighty five dollars to start. The Super Stocks will be racing for five hundred dollars for the winner with seventy five dollars to start. The Midwest Modified feature winner will receive four hundred dollars and it will be seventy dollars to start the main event. The Street Stock winner will receive three hundred dollars and and will pay sixty dollars to take the green. Finally, the Pure Stock winner will take home two hundred dollars and it will be forty dollars to start that main event. All features will pay twenty four finishing positions. At this point, B Feature money is unchanged from 2025. Racers will be competing for a total purse of just under fourteen thousand dollars for regular racing events with specials paying even more.

The first on track action of the 2026 racing season is slated to begin on Saturday night, April 25th at 6 pm with five classes, the Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks and Pure Stocks all racing under the WISSOTA sanctioning body. A practice session, free to the public to watch, is scheduled for Thursday night, April 23rd from 6-9 pm.
