Koehler Wins WISSOTA 100, Rice Lake Speedway Drivers Shine

Rice Lake WI, September 14 – The annual WISSOTA 100, the largest and most prestigious race held for WISSOTA racers all year, was completed on Saturday night at the I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls Minnesota and several drivers that are regular racers on Saturday nights at the Rice Lake Speedway had great success. This five night event, that brings together over three hundred racers from several states and two Canadian Provinces to crown WISSOTA champions, found several area drivers both winning main events and also earning podium finishes.

Topping the list of winners and earning the biggest crown possible in the Midwest Modified division was Bloomer Wisconsin's Nick Koehler. Besting a field of eighty four racers, Koehler, a six time winner at Rice Lake this year, passed Brennan Weight of LaMoure North Dakota on lap twenty two and then held off the challenges of James Trantina III from St. Cloud Minesota to win the thirty five lap feature race and take home three thousand dollars for his efforts.

Koehler was not the only Rice Lake regular to make the podium in this race either, as Blake Adams, a three time winner at the track in 2025 and track point champion , made a last turn pass to earn himself a third place finish and a spot on the podium.

Kolby Kiehl, a part owner of the speedway and track promoter who doesn't race at his own track, debuted a Midwest Modified at this event and also made the feature race.

In the Super Stock class, three Rice Lake regulars finished among the top ten finishers. Curt Myers, a four time winner at the track this year along with setting the new standard for feature wins by Super Stock drivers, took the lead in the Super Stock feature on lap three and led the race until lap thirty four when his tires gave out and he was passed by Shane Sabraski who then went on for the win. A last lap yellow set up a one lap race to the checkers and while Curt Myers faded to fifth with the used up tires, his son Alex benefitted. Alex, a three time winner at the speedway this year, charged up and in a photo finish, was scored in the third place and also earned a trip to the podium. Kiehl also finished in the top ten, running seventh.

Nick Traynor, a six time feature winner this year in the Street Stock class, finished eighth in the Street Stock feature after battling with the leaders for thirty laps. Will Fisher, who did not race this year, purchased a car for the 100 and also made the main event. Layla Chaplin did not make the final feature but continued in her battle for Street Stock Rookie of the Year honors in WISSOTA.

Blake Adams, locked in a battle for the Modified National Championship, debuted a new car recently but mechanical issues plagued the team all week and they parked the Modified to focus on the Midwest Modified.

These drivers, along with a number of other Rice Lake area racers, are expected to participate and be among the contenders at a number othe last season special events in the coming weeks.

The Rice Lake Speedway would like to congratulate these racers for their successes running against the best drivers in the WISSOTA organization.
