31st Street Stock Little Dream Post Race Tech Update

Starbuck, Minnesota's Kyle Dykhoff has officially been declared the $30,100 Street Stock Little Dream Race winner after last Tuesday night's event at the Rice Lake Speedway in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

Apparent race winner Keith Tourville’s #148 WISSOTA Street Stock failed post-race technical inspection after it was discovered that the intake manifold on his MAS Performance racing engine was altered, making it illegal under WISSOTA Auto Racing specifications.

Tourville was immediately disqualified from the event and Dykhoff was elevated from his runner-up finish to being declared the winner. The victory is Dykhoff's first Little Dream win worth an event record $30,100.

Tourville was given the option to appeal the disqualification, which is his right under WISSOTA Auto Racing policies, and he originally chose to, however as of tonight, he has pulled his appeal making all results official. All remaining payouts will be paid out in the coming days.

A team of technical inspectors was hired to conduct a thorough inspection on the top finishers of the race. After the top five finishers were scaled and initially teched, Tourville, along with the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place finishers were subjected to extensive post-race technical inspection and the remainder of the top five were declared legal. The illegal part in question from Tourville's car was tagged, per WISSOTA procedures, and was transported to WISSOTA technical advisors for review, where it was confirmed that it was not within the legal guidelines of what WISSOTA allows.

FYE Motorsports owner Chris Stepan said 'We appreciate the patience of the drivers during the lengthy technical inspection time period that lasted until well after 2am, and throughout the last few days, but as we told you all in the pit meeting before the event, we were going to do everything in our power to make sure who ever won the 31st annual Street Stock Little Dream Race did so legally. We want to thank everyone who participated in this year's historic Little Dream and appreciate the tech inspectors for doing the complete and thorough job that we asked them to do.'

Congrats to Kyle Dykhoff on his huge win!
