Fastlane Super Stock Opener to Rice Lake Speedway June 5
Rice Lake Wi – For the third straight year, the Fastlane Motorsports Northland Super Stock Series presented by Halvor Lines will kick off their ten night schedule at the Rice Lake Speedway on Thursday night, June 5th. This WISSOTA sanctioned series highlights the Super Stock division of racing, a popular one throughout the WISSOTA region with many tracks offering this class of racing on a weekly basis.
The Fastlane Series brings together the best Super Stock drivers from all corners of the WISSOTA region in a short series where they race for large payoffs and a great point fund.
Series director Dennis McCauley from Superior Wisconsin does a great job in lining up sponsors and contingencies for the drivers of this series and he has been forced to cap the series at ten races to make it easier for the drivers to attend all races, even though there are inquiries from many more tracks than that to be a part of the series.
Drivers will race for a minimum of one thousand dollars to win each event with a series point fund that pays the top ten places at the end of the series. Those drivers that don't make the top ten in points but have supported all races in the series will receive six hundred dollars just for showing up at all events. For these reasons and others, a great field of Super Stocks is expected to attend the June 5th event at Rice Lake with thirty to forty Super Stock drivers not out of the question.
The two events held at Rice Lake in previous years have seen Shane Sabraski from Rice Minnesota and Dexton Koch from Becker Minnesota win, with both going on to win National point titles in those years. Koch is also the defending Fastlane Series champion. Local drivers are anxious to even the score in this event and such drivers as Curt and Alex Myers from Cameron, Eric and Ryan Olson from Ladysmith and a host of others have already circled this date on their racing calendars.
Also racing with the Super Stocks on June 5th will be the Midwest Modifieds in a full program of their own. The midweek race for the Midwest Modifieds and an increased purse for their division is expected to draw a good field of drivers in that class also including a number of visiting drivers from other tracks. The two division program is designed to provide a quick night of racing for those that must work on Friday.
Pit gates will open at 4 pm on June 5th with the spectator gates open at 5 pm. Hot laps for the Super Stocks begin at 6:30 pm with racing at 7 pm. This special will be the only racing at the track during the week as the speedway will then take Saturday night, June 7th off, with the next race being on Saturday night, June 14th when all six classes will be in attendance for the Relay at the Races night.
