RICE LAKE, WI (July 19) - After a week off for the Barron County Fair, Rice Lake Speedway is set to return to racing action on Saturday, July 24. Plans are also being revealed for events that will comprise the rest of the initial season of racing for Adams-Hansen, Inc. since their purchase of the track in April.
Regular racing action will take place on July 24 and 31. The Street Stock Little Dream Race along with the first appearance of the WISSOTA Late Models will take place on Tuesday, August 3 with a rain date of August 4. Buzz Signs & Graphics will be one of the sponsors so far announced for that event. Right now, the Street Stock portion of the race will pay at least $800 to the winner but that figure is expected to rise as more sponsors and individual donors come on board. The Late Models will be running for a minimum of $1,200 to win with that figure likely to rise also. The Late Model program will be fully sanctioned by WISSOTA on that night.
In August, there will be racing on the 7th, 14th and 21st leading up to Championship night on August 28. The Northern Vintage cars will make an appearance on August 14, which will be sponsored by Dirt Track Specialties.
Championship night on August 28 will be a big night indeed; along with the championship races in all five classes, the UMSS Sprint Cars based in Minnesota will be putting on a complete show also. Tim’s Automotive & Machine will be the sponsor on Championship night.
The season will conclude on Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5 with the Labor Day weekend doubleheader. Racing will be held in all classes both nights with purse details expected to be announced shortly. H&E Ready Mix along with Adams Automotive are already announced as sponsors for that night with more expected to be added shortly.
Also in the plans for the weeks to come are Scout Night; all scouts in uniform will be admitted free and Pack the Stands Night with discounted admission prices for all race fans. Other special events and announcements will be be made as they are finalized. Also, the track wishes to announce that their two seater modified is nearing completion and when fully ready, two seater rides in the Modified with Kevin Adams behind the wheel will be available every race night.
